About me

I’m Jarrik Bijsterbosch, a Dutch freelance photographer specializing in sports, outdoor and adventure photography.

My career started in Curaçao, where I spent two years documenting international sailing events and was appointed official photographer at major competitions including the 5.5 Metre World Championships, Scandinavian Gold Cup and the Heineken Regatta. After these international assignments, I relocated to the Netherlands to further professionalize my skills at the Fotovakschool Amsterdam, refining my technical foundation, post production workflow and narrative approach.

In 2016 I joined the AZ Alkmaar Youth Media Team, supporting the club’s growing digital strategy through structured content creation for matches, training sessions and behind the scenes environments, contributing to increased reach and engagement across the club’s social platforms.

Today I operate independently across Europe, producing visual content for sports brands, outdoor organizations and lifestyle oriented companies. My work is focused on clarity, continuity and performance: imagery that strengthens brand identity, supports campaign objectives and is optimized for multi channel distribution including websites, social media and publications.

When I’m not on assignment, I’m home with my wife and our dog. They keep my perspective sharp and remind me why visual storytelling matters: moments disappear, but the memories behind them define how stories are remembered.
